THE HUNTINGTON ANNOUNCES FIVE VIBRANT EVENTS IN HONOR OF PRIDE MONTH THROUGH HUNTINGTON HOSTS
The Huntington Hosts brings Off-Broadway comedies, Edinburgh Fringe hits, drag events, and trivia to celebrate Pride and uplift queer artists in Greater Boston
(BOSTON) – The Huntington announces a vibrant slate of five Pride events spanning drag, comedy, trivia, and pre-Off-Broadway performances as part of its Huntington Hosts initiative. Highlights include Broad Strokes with Cat Cohen, arriving in Boston ahead of its Off-Broadway run, and an Edinburgh Fringe hit from comedy duo Couplet. The lineup also features two drag showcases with artists including Luxx Noir London (RuPaul’s Drag Race) and Chanel Thee Angel, plus a Pride-themed Glee Trivia night.
“It’s deeply rewarding to bring such an exciting variety of work that celebrates and centers queer audiences to The Huntington over the course of five joyful weeks,” says Huntington Hosts co-chairs Esther Daube-Valois and Jenna Glazier. “And it’s particularly special, given that the very first Huntington Hosts event was a one-woman drag show in 2024 (we love you, Jolene Cuisine!). While we aim to center queer performers all year round, this Pride Month is bursting with joy, talent, and experiences we can’t wait to share!”
From drag to podcasts to wrestling, Huntington Hosts activates The Huntington’s two venues (The Huntington Theatre and the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA) in innovative ways, while also supporting local artists and organizations through its unique, incubator format. Separate from The Huntington’s acclaimed season led by Artistic Director Loretta Greco, and distinct from venue rentals, Hosts events nurture creative experimentation and community-building through diverse, locally-grown programming.
Since Huntington staff launched the initiative in 2024, Huntington Hosts has collaborated with over twenty local artists and community groups across genres and backgrounds. Spanning genres, past events supported local organizations and artists including Anania, Ask Ronna, Big Tom Circus, Bob Saoud, Boston Lindy Hop, Boston Women’s Market, CeCe Knight Jones + Tom Foolery, Chaotic Wrestling, Fork and Shoe Theatre Co-Op, FOUND Vintage Market, Jolene Cuisine, Kori King, Lulu Levity and Silva, Mizery, MOOISH Productions, Taylor Swift Trivia, Trident Booksellers, and 617 Country.
