Lydia R. Diamond, (playwright) is an award-winning playwright whose work includes The Huntington productions of Smart People, Stick Fly, Lizzie Stranton and Voyeurs de Venus; Stick Fly (Broadway run at Cort Theatre), Toni Stone (2022 at Alliance Theatre, 2021 at Arena Stage DC, 2019 premiere at Roundabout Theatre Company), The Bluest Eye (Off-Broadway run at The Duke) and Harriet Jacobs (Steppenwolf Theatre).

DuBois Institute Fellow at Harvard, a Sundance Playwright Lab Creative Advisor, a Harvard Radcliffe Institute Fellow, a National Endowment for the Arts/Theatre Communications Group playwright, and currently on faculty at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
