Des Bennett (they/them) is  a theater maker, facilitator, and visual artist dedicated to continued learning, iterative experimentation, and collective care as the framework for their artistic endeavors.


Des Bennett (they/them) is  a theater maker, facilitator, and visual artist dedicated to continued learning, iterative experimentation, and collective care as the framework for their artistic endeavors. Recent directing work includes: Common Ground: Revisited (Ass. Dir., Huntington) My Body Is A Season (Dir., SpeakEasy) and Scenes From Metamorphoses (Dir., Northeastern University). They recently were the Dramaturg for Melinda Lopez’ Young Nerds of Color at Central Square Theater, where they also serve as the Connectivity Coordinator. Des holds a BA in Theater from Northeastern University, where they have held Research Assistantships with Dani Snyder-Young PhD on her projects, Theatre participation and arts-integrated peer leadership in substance addiction recovery processes (now an NEA funded project) and Digital performance, wellness, and equity, and contributed to Snyder-Young, Dani (2022) “Procedurally authored performances of mindful practice: Theatre-for-one, audience labor and self-optimization,” published in TDR (forthcoming).
