Jerry Wu

Jerry Wu (he/him) first got his start in Lindy Hop during an impromptu dance lesson at a Christmas party 13-years ago. Having gotten a taste of the dance, he started attending the local social-dance scene in Philadelphia, stepped on fellow BLH teacher Cari Meisel’s toes more than a few times, and joined Penn’s West Philly Swingers dance troupe.

After graduation, he moved to New York and like many, caught a serious case of the dance bug, social dancing nearly every night of the week and frequently traveling across the country and around the world to attend dance events (15 countries and counting!). Beyond Lindy Hop, he also dances Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and West Coast Swing. He loves to emphasize connection and clear communication in his dancing as it paves the way for comfortable dances, and more importantly, goofy shenanigans. You can frequently find him practicing his basics while waiting for streetlights to change.
