Announcing Bad Dates extension

(BOSTON) – The Huntington Theatre Company has extended the run of Bad Dates. This irresistible comedy featuring Haneefah Wood (Cassandra in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Huntington and Blanche in Fox TV’s “Grease Live!”), is written by Theresa Rebeck (creator of NBC’s “Smash” and the Elliot Norton and IRNE Award-winning play Mauritius, produced at the Huntington in 2006), and directed by Jessica Stone (director of Ripcord and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike at the Huntington).

“This show has now proven itself as the date that everyone wants to go on,” says Managing Director Michael Maso. “Audiences are having such a terrific time at Bad Dates that we have added 4 more opportunities for people to bring a date or a group of friends and just laugh and have fun.”

4 new performances have been added; the dates are Thursday, March 1 at 7:30pm; Friday, March 2 at 8pm; Saturday, March 3 at 2pm and 8pm. Bad Dates plays at the Avenue of the Arts / Huntington Avenue Theatre.

A new block of seats is on sale now. Single tickets start at $25 and can be purchased online at, by phone at 617 266 0800, or in person at the Huntington Avenue Theatre Box Office, 264 Huntington Ave and Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA Box Office, 527 Tremont St. in Boston’s South End.

Restaurant manager and shoe connoisseur Haley Walker is finally ready to re-enter the dating world. From the privacy of her bedroom, she relates a series of hilarious tales while preparing for, and recovering from, one dreadful date after another.

WBUR calls Bad Dates, “a crowd-pleasing one-woman show” and “a rewarding night out…. sure to hit all the right, resonant notes. The Huntington's revival feels like an act of zeitgeist genius.” The Boston Globe exclaims that Bad Dates is, “Comic gold! Haneefah Wood sparkles. A performance of confidence, energy, and inventiveness.”  Jared Bowen on WGBH says Haneefah Wood gives “a wonderful star turn.  Bad Dates is very, very fun!”
