
Lala Cooks-Beeks
Lala Cooks-Beeks is fresh out of high school. She started her acting journey in Buffalo, New York during middle school as Miss. Sherman in CSAT’s production of Fame Jr. After moving to Boston, she performed in three Boston Arts Academy productions: Maricela de La Luz Lights the World as Hercules, Shrek the Musical as one of the three little pigs, and Emily in Vindication an original play by Armani Barrantes. This summer, Lala played Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing with The Huntington’s Education Department. Much Ado About Nothing was Lala’s first professional production.

Lala Cooks-Beeks trained as an actor at Boston Arts Academy. Through BAA’s immersive theater education, Lala found a secondary passion in technical theater. She now gets on the job training around the city as a technical intern through Brighter Boston.
Lala is continuing her education at Bunker Hill Community College in hopes of transferring to a BFA program.
Lala has also won awards such as: Boston regional 2nd place winner in the Next Narrative Monologue Competition 2022 and Boston regional champion for August Wilson New Voices Competition 2024.
Lala Cooks-Beeks would like to shout Boston Arts Academy’s theater staff for not letting her give up, and The Huntington’s education team, specifically Naheem Garcia, Latasha Snider, and Meg O’Brien for showing her what the world has to offer and what she has to offer the world.
