The Lehman Trilogy Events

Join us for the Directors’ Salon: Carey Perloff in conversation with Loretta Greco

Monday June 12, 7pm light refreshments, 7:30pm discussion, followed by book signing

Maso Studio, 264 Huntington Ave

The Huntington invites you to an animated discussion between Artistic Director Loretta Greco and renowned theatre director Carey Perloff, as they engage in a compelling dialogue surrounding Perloff’s new book, Pinter and Stoppard: A Director’s View. Carey Perloff has worked closely with both artists and brings the fresh insights of being a friend and collaborator to these theatrical revolutionaries.

Carey joins The Huntington again to direct the highly anticipated American premiere of The Lehman Trilogy, having previously directed a visually stunning production of Tom Stoppard’s Rock ’n’ Roll for the company in 2009. In the first chapter of her new book, Carey explores Pinter and Stoppard through the lens of their Jewish identity, an aspect she will further explore in the context of The Lehman Trilogy.

Please join us for an intimate evening where Loretta will interview Carey about her experience with both playwrights, her expertise in their artistic processes, and her fresh perspective on their plays’ impact in the 21st century.

FREE Panel Discussion: The True Cost of Capitalism and Racism

Join us on June 14th at the WBUR CitySpace (890 Commonwealth Ave, Boston) for a panel conversation about The Lehman Trilogy.

The Tony-award winning play The Lehman Trilogy has been performed in 24 countries, and now makes its Boston debut at The Huntington. Spanning across The Lehman Brothers’ 150 year history from a dry goods store to an infamous investment firm, the history referenced in the play calls for us to grapple with the difficult history of our nation, including our economic roots in slavery, the changing forces of antisemitism, and the effects of modern capitalism.

This panel features distinguished local scholars including Dr. Kyera Singleton (Executive Director, Royall House & Slave Quarters) and Dr. Stephen Whitfield (Emeritus Professor, Brandeis University) in conversation about the vast social and historical forces that surround this American story.
