Support the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund

The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating effect on the theatre community.  Boston area theatres large and small have had to make the difficult decision to cancel or postpone shows or entire seasons, resulting in layoffs, furloughs, and a lack of work opportunities.  These closures impact theatre professionals of all types – performers, designers, directors, stage managers, technicians, artisans, educators and administrators.

The Theatre Community Benevolent Fund is a resource for individual members of the Greater Boston theatre community facing catastrophic occurrences.  In a typical year they receive five applications but now they are averaging five per week.  From March through July 2020, TCBF has distributed $165,577 and funded over 90 grants. TCBF has given out over $60,000 more than they have received in donations.

Theatre doesn’t happen without a strong community behind it.  Please consider making a gift to the Theatre Community Benevolent Fund to ensure that theatre, and theatre-makers, come back from this intermission stronger than ever.
