Winnie Holzman’s New Play To Debut In Boston

In 1994, Winnie Holzman created a hit TV series about the drama of teenage life. Actresses Claire Danes and Bess Armstrong brought a mother-daughter relationship to life, but it was Holzman’s writing that transformed even the simplest interaction between a mother and daughter into something incredibly heartfelt and authentic.

Holzman also wrote the 90s TV series “Thirtysomething,” another family-relationship drama. In 2003, she wrote the book for the musical Wicked. And on Friday, her new play, Choice, will debut at the Huntington Theatre Company.
