“I’ve been taking my kids to The Huntington’s student matinees for many years now and am happy to report that The Huntington does it right! They are serious about exposing young people to the theatre and providing an enriching experience for them. Plus, the Huntington does everything possible to make it affordable.”— Bill Deschenes, Pierce Middle School, Milton, Massachusetts

Don’t miss out — Student matinees fill up quickly!
“I decided to become a playwright after seeing August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone. I was twelve. I sat in the balcony of The Huntington and saw, for the first time, a story that challenged and affirmed what I knew about how black people fit into the cultural landscape of America. My notions of how black characters fit into American literature melted into the gilt proscenium. The Huntington has always felt like home.”— Kirsten Greenidge, Huntington Playwriting Fellow and author of Luck of the Irish and Milk Like Sugar
