The Seagull Curtain Calls: Nael Nacer

by:  Nael Nacer at 03/19/2014

 Name: Nael Nacer

Role: Semyon Semyonovich Medvedenko

Hometown: Paris, France

Favorite Chekhov play?
This will be my first time perfoming Chekhov, but I've always loved The Seagull. It was my introduction to Chekhov and his wonderfully raw, hilarious, and tragic characters.

Most recent Huntington role:
Simon Stimson in David Cromer's production of Our Town

What did your parents want you to be when you grew up?
I think my parents would have been delighted if I'd gone into the world of business.

Most memorable acting experience from early in your career?
I'm still in the early years of my career, so this is quite recent, but I was lucky enough to be a part of Our Town last year at the Huntington. Everything about that experience — the play, the people, the music, and the gasps, sobs, and sighs from the audience when the lights went out at the end of the play — will vividly remain with me for a long, long time. And the smell of Bacon.
