T.J. Gerckens

T.J. Gerckens previously designed lighting at the Huntington for The Jungle Book (2013), Candide (2011), A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration (2009), and Journey to the West (1996). His Broadway credits include Metamorphoses (Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Awards). His Off Broadway credits include Measure for Measure (The Public Theater), The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci (Second Stage Theatre), and Philip Glass’ Galileo Galilei (Brooklyn Academy of Music). His regional credits include Pericles (Helen Hayes and Jefferson Award nominations), Silk (Jeff Award nomination), The Odyssey (Jefferson Award), Oo-Bla-Dee, The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci, Arabian Nights, The Old Curiosity Shop (Jefferson Award nomination), The Secret of the Wings (Jefferson Award nomination), and productions at Shakespeare Theatre Company, Goodman Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, La Jolla Playhouse, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and McCarter Theatre. He holds an MFA from Boston University and teaches lighting design at the University of Toledo.
