KJ Sanchez

KJ Sanchez is the founder and CEO of American Records, dedicated to making theatre that chronicles our time. She has directed reimagined classics, new plays, and her own documentary plays. Ms. Sanchez has worked with Goodman Theatre, Humana Festival of New American Plays, Milwaukee Repetory Theater, Asolo Repetory Theatre, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. She is the director, co-author, and producer of ReEntry, which has toured extensively across the country and abroad. As a playwright, Ms. Sanchez has been produced at theatres such as Berkeley Repertory Theatre, PlayMakers Repertory Company, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Two River Theater, Baltimore Center Stage, Frontera Repertory Theatre Company, Round House Theatre, Cornerstone Theater Company, Urban Stages Theater, and HERE Arts Center. Acting credits include productions at BAM, New York Theatre Workshop, and Soho Repertory Theatre. Voiceover credits include “Dora the Explorer” and “Go Diego Go!” Ms. Sanchez is a Fox Fellow, Douglas Wallop Fellow, and a recipient of the 2014 Rella Lossy Playwright Award. She is an associate artist with The Civilians, a New York Theatre Workshop Usual Suspect, and a former member of Anne Bogart's SITI Company.
