Jake DeGroot

Jake DeGroot was previously the assistant lighting designer for Rapture, Blister, Burn (2013) at the Huntington. He has Off Broadway credits that include Standby (New York Musical Theatre Festival), The Crucible (New Ohio Theatre), disOriented (theatre C), Neither Heaven Nor Earth (PoliglotTheater), Emilie’s Voltaire (LIA, The Samuel Beckett Theatre), and The Erpingham Camp (WorkShop Theater Company). Regional credits include Spring Awakening and Dreamgirls (ReVision Theatre) and Caroline in Jersey and Big Money (Williamstown Theatre Festival). His associate/assistant Broadway credits include The Performers, Born Yesterday, Time Stands Still, Mary Stuart, and Old Acquaintance and Off Broadway credits include Talley’s Folly (Roundabout Theatre Company), Nightingale and Ruined (ManhatthanTheatre Club), and Wig Out! (Vineyard Theatre). He’s worked with Hartford Stage, Ford’s Theatre, Westport County Playhouse, Yale Repertory Theatre, George Street Playhouse, and Theatreworks Singapore. He was the co-lighting supervisor at Williamstown Theatre Festival durring their 2008-2009 season, and he is the programmer for Blue Man Group. He received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon.
