Francis O’Connor

Francis O’Connor previously designed the set and costumes for Two Men of Florence (2009) at the Huntington. He has designed on Broadway for the Druid Theatre Company’s Tony Award-winning The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Atlantic Theater Company and Walter Kerr Theatre); Lonesome West (Lyceum Theatre); and Sixteen Wounded (Walter Kerr Theatre). His Off Broadway designs include The Cripple of Inishmaan (Atlantic Theater Company), Translations (McCarter Theatre and Manhattan Theatre Club), J.M. Synge’s The Playboy of the Western World (Guthrie Theater and Lincoln Center Theater), and the world premiere of Arthur Miller’s Mr. Peter’s Connections with Peter Falk (Signature Theatre). Mr. O’Connor has designed for several of Edward Hall’s productions including The Hinge of the World (now Two Men of Florence, Yvonne Arnaud Theatre) and The Deep Blue Sea (tour and London’s Vaudeville Theatre). His current London productions include The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Love’s Labour’s Lost (Royal Shakespeare Company). He recently opened Pinocchio for Minnesota Opera, following Chemnitz Opera in Germany, and Opera North in the U.K. Mr. O’Connor trained at Wimbledon School of Art in London.
