Timothy J. Thompson

Timothy J. Thompson has designed for theatre and the Smithsonian Institution, and has spent the past 17 years as Arena Stage’s sound department head. Recent Arena Stage credits include The Fantasticks; Crowns; A Delicate Balance; Edward Albee’s The Goat or, Who Is Sylvia?; Proof; A Man’s a Man; Book of Days; South Pacific; The Misanthrope; Anthems; A Moon for the Misbegotten; On the Jump; Blues in the Night; Of Mice and Men; and K2. Mr. Thompson received Helen Hayes Award nominations for You Can’t Take It With You and The Revengers’ Comedies. Other designs include The Blue Room (Signature Theatre, VA); Life in Refusal, Via Dolorosa, and The Ride Down Mt. Morgan (Theater J); Voir Dire (Long Wharf Theatre); Saki Operas (DiCapo Opera Theater); and Life Is a Dream (University of Maryland); as well as work on Jitney in New York.
