Tanya Barfield

Tanya Barfield's (playwright) Bright Half Life (2014) has been produced at the Huntington as part of the Breaking Gound festival of new plays. Ms. Barfield's The Call premiered last spring at Playwrights Horizons in co-production with Primary Stages and was a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Her play Blue Door was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and premiered at South Coast Rep, and has been seen at Playwrights Horizons and numerous theaters around the country. She wrote the book for the Theatreworks/USA children’s musical, Civil War: The First Black Regiment which toured public schools regionally. A recipient of a Lilly Award, the inaugural Lilly Award Commission and a Helen Merrill, Tanya is a proud alumna of New Dramatists and a member of The Dramatist Guild Council.
