Louisiana State University Press is a nonprofit book publisher dedicated to producing exceptional scholarly, general interest, and regional books. Founded in 1935, LSU Press’ primary areas of publication include Southern history, Southern literary studies, poetry, roots music, foodways, environmental studies, and works on the Gulf South region. Perhaps most widely recognized as the publisher of John Kennedy Toole’s novel A Confederacy of Dunces, the Press continues to publish original fiction in its Yellow Shoe Fiction series. LSU Press books have won four Pulitzer Prizes and a host of other awards, including the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Booker Prize, the American Book Award, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, the Bancroft Prize, and the Lincoln Prize.
