Development and Marketing Apprenticeships


The Development Apprentice assists all fundraising staff with:

  • donor stewardship, including greeting donors in our theatres before performances and during intermission for several assigned performances of eight productions each year
  • donor communications and mailings
  • prospective donor research (individual, corporate and foundation)
  • preparation for special events during the season like Opening Night dinners and smaller cultivation events
  • donor recordkeeping
  • our annual spring Gala that raises over $1 million with duties to include: auction item procurement, online auction site preparation, tribute program book advertisement sales assistance and ad prep
  • 35 Below events for our patrons aged 35 and under

Writing samples can be any number of things.  An excerpt of a grant proposal or project, an annual fund appeal letter, or a play review to name a few. 


Lizzy explains the social core of development

Marketing/ Communications:

  • assists in promotions and outreach for shows
  • helps host special events
  • surveys audiences and analyzes audience data
  • recruits local businesses for sponsorships
  • contributes articles to our newsletters and publications as well as content to our blog and other social media outlets
  • Assists with editing and graphic design projects
  • prepares, segments, and analyzes Huntington eblasts
  • acts as a representative of the Marketing department with the 35 Below Program and the Apprenticeship program
