Restaurant manager and shoe connoisseur Haley Walker is finally ready to re-enter the dating world. From the privacy of her bedroom, she relates a series of hilarious tales while preparing for, and recovering from, one dreadful date after another. Theresa Rebeck's (playwright) Bad Dates (2018) was revived after Bad Dates (2004) at the Huntington. Ms. Rebeck is a widely produced playwright throughout the United States and abroad. Her play Mauritius had its world premiere at the Huntington and received the IRNE and Elliot Norton Awards for Best Play.
Jessica Stone returns to the Huntington after directing Bad Dates (2018), Ripcord (2017), and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (2015), based on Nicholas Martin’s Broadway direction. She has also performed in the Huntington’s productions of She Loves Me, Betty’s Summer Vacation, and Springtime for Henry. She has worked as an actress on and Off Broadway, and in television and film, for the last 25 years.
Haneefah Wood appeared at the Huntington as Hayley Walker in Bad Dates (2018) and as Cassandra in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (2015). She has appeared on Broadway in Rent (Nederlander Theatre), Avenue Q (John Golden Theatre), and Brooklyn (Plymouth Theatre).
Alexander Dodge returns to the Huntington having previously designed the sets for Bad Dates (2018); Tartuffe (2018); Bedroom Farce (2016); Smart People (2014); Rapture, Blister, Burn (2013); Good People (2012); The Miracle at Naples (2009); Boleros for the Disenchanted (2008); Brendan (2007); and many more.
Sarah Laux previously designed costumes for the Huntington's production of Bad Dates (2018) and Come Back, Little Sheba (2015). Broadway credits include The Band’s Visit, The Humans, and Fully Committed.
David J. Weiner designed the lighting for Huntington productions of Bad Dates (2018), Ripcord (2017), Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (2015), Becky Shaw (2010), Butley (2003), and Springtime for Henry (2003). His Broadway credits include The Price, Stephen King’s Misery, Romeo and Juliet, Dead Accounts, Grace, Godspell, The Normal Heart, Reasons to Be Pretty, Butley, Dinner at Eight (Lincoln Center Theater), Betrayal (Roundabout Theatre Company), and The Real Thing. Off Broadway Mr. Weiner’s work has been seen at MCC Theater, Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage Theatre, Playwrights Horizons, The Public Theater/NYSF, New York Theatre Workshop, Theatre for a New Audience, Vineyard Theatre, and Atlantic Theater Company.
