Calderwood Challenge

As you may have read in our Spotlight newsletter, the Huntington recently announced the Calderwood Charitable Foundation Matching Challenge. Knowing the difficult choices that our patrons must make in an uncertain economy, the Foundation has offered to match new and increased gifts to the Huntington this season. That means that your gift will go twice as far, and if we reach our goal the Calderwood Foundation will double their gift, from $250,000 to $500,000 this year.
No matter what the size, every dollar of your new or increased gift will help us make this match. Your support is more important than ever and I'm pleased to report that over 600 Huntington patrons have already contributed to the Challenge.

This season, the love and legacy of two longtime friends will help your money go twice as far to benefit the Huntington Theatre Company.
During their lifetimes, Stanford and Norma Jean Calderwood made substantial gifts to allow the Huntington to realize our mission and to sustain our award-winning programs and productions. Today, the trustees of the Calderwood Charitable Foundation are carrying on that work. This year, the Huntington is thrilled to offer the Calderwood Charitable Foundation Matching Challenge to help inspire new gifts and increased contributions from our current supporters.
Every new and increased Annual Fund donation received this season will be matched by the Calderwood Charitable Foundation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000! This match increases the impact of your personal gift — making it go even further in helping us continue to bring award-winning productions and programs to you.
The Huntington engages, inspires, and entertains audiences with theatrical productions that range from the classics to new works; we train and support the next generation of theatre artists; we provide art education programs that promote life-long learning to a diverse community; and we appreciate the essential power of the theatre to celebrate our common humanity.
Financial support from patrons who believe in the mission of the Huntington is an essential part of creating great theatre. The Huntington is an independent non-profit theatre that relies on contributions from individuals, businesses, government agencies, and foundations to underwrite 45%, or $5.6 million, of its annual operating budget.
Your commitment and valued support as a Friend of the Huntington will enable us to continue to thrive as a vibrant company this season and for years to come, so please make your new or increased gift today! Your gift will be matched and will have an even greater impact.
