
PETER ASKIN (Director) recently directed Eve Ensler's
The Good Body on Broadway. Other New York credits include
Trumbo, starring (at different times) Nathan Lane, Ed Harris, Tim Robbins, Chris Cooper, Brian Dennehy, F. Murray Abraham, and, most recently, Paul Newman at Westport Country Playhouse. Other productions include John Leguizamo's
Sexaholix, Spic-O-Rama (Drama Desk Award), and
Mambo Mouth (OBIE, Outer Critics' Circle Awards). Mr. Askin has also directed the New York, London, and Los Angeles productions of
Hedwig and the Angry Inch (OBIE, Outer Critics' Circle Awards), and Pulitzer Prize finalist Dael Orlandersmith's
Monster and Beauty's Daughter (OBIE Award), as well as her play
The Gimmick, which he conceived and directed at Sundance and the McCarter Theatre Center. Other New York credits include
Dinner with Demons, How It Hangs, Linda Her, Beauty Marks, Ourselves Alone, Reno, Reality Ranch, and
Down an Alley Filled with Cats. Regionally he has worked at American Conservatory Theater, Seattle Repertory Theatre, McCarter Theatre Center, Goodman Theatre, and Pasadena Playhouse. He has written (and co-written) several screenplays, including
Smithereens for New Line and Paramount Classic's
Company Man. For television he has directed for HBO, FOX, and the Comedy Channel. Upcoming projects include
Privilege, by Paul Weitz at Second Stage Theatre, and
Searching For Certainty, by Mike O'Malley in the spring.
