
RUBEN SANTIAGO-HUDSON (Caesar) received a Tony Award for his portrayal of Canewell in August Wilson’s
Seven Guitars (a role he also played for the Huntington), for which he was also the recipient of Outer Critics, Drama League, and Clarence Derwent Awards. He made his Broadway debut in
Jelly’s Last Jam opposite Gregory Hines. Other stage credits include the Obie, Helen Hayes, and AUDELCO Award-winning
Lackawanna Blues, also written by Mr. Santiago-Hudson, and
East Texas Hot Links (The Joseph Papp Public Theater);
A Raisin in the Sun (Williamstown Theatre Festival);
Ceremonies in Dark Old Men (Negro Ensemble Company);

Measure for Measure (New York Shakespeare Festival’s Delacorte Theater); and

Lackawanna Blues, directed by George C. Wolfe, from a screenplay written by Mr. Santiago-Hudson.
Lackawanna Blues will have its world premiere in early 2005. Mr. Santiago-Hudson has an MFA from Wayne State University and an honorary MFA from American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
