PHYLICIA RASHAD (Aunt Ester) has appeared on Broadway in A Raisin in the Sun as Lena Younger, Jelly’s Last Jam as Sweet Anita, Into the Woods as the Witch, and in the ensembles of Dreamgirls, The Wiz, and Ain’t Supposed to Die a Natural Death. Off Broadway credits include Everybody’s Ruby, Helen, and The Story at The Joseph Papp Public Theater, and The Vagina Monologues. Her regional theatre credits include Blues for an Alabama Sky (Alliance Theatre Company, Hartford Stage Company, Arena Stage, Huntington Theatre Company), Blue (Arena Stage, Roundabout Theatre Company, The Pasadena Playhouse), and Medea (Alliance Theatre Company). Ms. Rashad co-executive produced and co-starred in “The Old Settler” for PBS Hollywood Presents. She received a BFA degree in theatre from the College of Fine Arts at Howard University.
