
Seán Curran (Choreographer) choreographed the Broadway (and Huntington) production of James Joyce's
The Dead for Playwrights Horizons and was an original member of the Off Broadway percussion extravaganza
Stomp. His recent projects include
Much Ado About Nothing and
A Midsummer Night's Dream (The Shakespeare Theatre);
Nixon in China (Opera Theatre of St. Louis); a third new work for Trinity Irish Dance Company;
L'Etoile, Alcina, Turandot, and
Haroun and the Sea of Stories (New York City Opera);
My Life with Albertine (Playwrights Horizons); and
The Rivals (Lincoln Center Theater). He has created works for Denmark's Upper Cut Company, Sweden's Skänes Dance Theater, Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Utah's Ririe Woodbury Dance Company, and Pittsburgh's Dance Alloy, and has performed his solo evening of dances at venues throughout the United States and abroad. A graduate and guest faculty member of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Mr. Curran has taught extensively at the American Dance Festival, Harvard University, Bates Dance Festival, and Boston's Conservatory of Music. He recently created
Art/Song/Dance for his company which premiered at Jacob's Pillow in August 2004. The Seán Curran Company will perform at The Joyce Theater in New York City this summer, from June 7 - 12.
