About The Seagull
Celebrated actress Irina Arkadina's visit to her aspiring playwright son with her successful novelist lover in tow kindles unrequited passions and petty jealousies in Anton Chekhov's masterpiece about love, missed connections, and what it means to be an artist.
Kate Burton (TV's "Scandal") returns to the Huntington for Chekhov's emotionally rich classic, directed by Huntington favorite Maria Aitken (The Cocktail Hour, Betrayal, and Private Lives).
Approximate run time: 2 hours and 25 minutes, including one ten-minute intermission.
This production includes the use of theatrical smoke and haze, a gunshot, and the smoking of a clove cigarette.
"Maria is such a beloved member of the Huntington family and gifted interpreter of the classics, and she will undoubtedly coax incredible humor and pathos out of Chekhov's masterpiece."— Peter DuBois
"I’m thrilled to reunite with my leading man from The Corn is Green, Morgan Ritchie, and one of my favorite theatres, the Huntington."— Kate Burton
