About the Company

Evan Yionoulis (Director) previously directed Jon Robin Baitz’s Ten Unknowns for the Huntington. Last season she directed a new adaptation of Gozzi’s The King Stag at Yale Repertory Theatre, with music by Mike Yionoulis (her brother). She directed Richard Greenberg’s The Violet Hour on Broadway at the Biltmore Theatre, after having directed its premiere at South Coast Repertory, and received an OBIE Award for her direction of his Three Days of Rain (Manhattan Theatre Club). She has also directed Mr. Greenberg's Everett Beekin (Lincoln Center Theater, South Coast Repertory); The American Plan (Manhattan Theatre Club); and The Author's Voice (Ensemble Studio Theatre, Drama Dept.). Other productions include Warren Leight's Glimmer, Glimmer, and Shine (Mark Taper Forum, Manhattan Theatre Club) and Nicky Silver's The Maiden's Prayer and Elizabeth Egloff's Phaedra (Vineyard Theatre). Her regional credits include productions at Denver Center Theater, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Dallas Theater Center, Portland Stage Company, and PlayMakers Repertory Company, among others. Ms. Yionoulis teaches in the Department of Acting (which she chaired from 1998-2003) at the Yale School of Drama and is a resident director at Yale Repertory Theatre where she directed George F. Walker's Heaven (with Michael O'Keefe) and Brecht's Galileo (starring Byron Jennings).
