Delighted by the bawdy mirth of sir John Falstaff in the Henry IV plays, Queen Elizabeth commanded William Shakespeare to write a play featuring the antics of the rogue knight in love. Inspired by this royal command, The Merry Wives of Windsor was performed for the Queen and her court fourteen days later.

Falstaff’s comical journey begins when he foolheartedly plans love affairs with two playful Windsor beauties, Mrs. Ford and Mrs. Page. When they each receive the identical love letter from Sir John, they embark on a mirthful plot for revenge.
