
Stephen Strawbridge (Lighting Designer) previously designed
The Way of the World for the Huntington. His recent work includes Craig Lucas’ adaptation of
The Three Sisters (Intiman Theatre),
Souls of Naples with John Turturro (Theatre for a New Audience),
Singing Forest (Long Wharf Theatre, Intiman Theatre),
Dirty Tricks (The Public Theater/NYSF),
Dead Puppet Talk (The Kitchen), and
BUGonia (Pilobolus Dance Theatre). His designs have been seen on Broadway, Off Broadway and at regional theatres across the country. Mr. Strawbridge’s work for the opera has taken him to New York, San Francisco, Santa Fe, Houston, Dallas, San Diego, and Austin. Internationally he has designed the lighting for major premieres in Bergen, Hong Kong, Munich, Copenhagen, The Hague, São Paulo. He has been recognized with several awards and nominations including the American Theatre Wing Award, Helen Hayes Award, Bay Area Critics Circle Award, and Dallas Theatre Critics Forum Award. Mr. Strawbridge teaches lighting design and is co-chair of the design department at the Yale University School of Drama.
