After School Programs

SCENE STUDY


APPLICATIONS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR 2007-2008


Students focus on monologue and scene preparation from classic or contemporary dramatic literature, which is thematically linked to a Huntington Theatre Company production. Concentrated emphasis includes: text analysis, character objectives, movement and vocal work appropriate for specific character development. Students leave the class with two well-prepared contrasting monologues.


Prerequisite: Acting experience or completion of The Acting Class, Too

Membership Fee: $100, fall semester only

Fall Semester: Mondays, September 24 - December 17, 2006

Young Artists' Showcase: Saturday, December 15, 2007

Meets: At the Huntington Theatre Company for one semester from 4:00 to 7:00pm

Grade/Age: Recommended for ages 12—17 with stage and performance experience. Brief resume of stage experience must be submitted with application.

Class Size: Limited to 16 students

Class Placement: Students completing one semester of The Acting Class, Too are placed first in Scene Study. New applicants are asked to submit a performance resume and are accepted only after participating Acting Class, Too students are placed.

Upon completion of the program, participants receive a Student Club Card that entitles them to 2 FREE TICKETS to each Huntington production until their 21st birthday.

All Education Department after school programs include a 2007-2008 Membership Fee. Scholarship support will also be available.
