Honk If You Love the Huntington!

by:  Todd Williams at 10/26/2010

We've finally retired our 1995 Ford Cargo Van.  You may have seen it parked out front — you know the one with the yellow pinstripes and three bandaids? I haven't had a chance to take the new one it for a spin yet myself, but it's already got it's first parking ticket. That's city living for ya.

Anyway — here's a couple photos of our new baby. Expected retirement: 2025.

Honk if you see us on the road!

 1. I'm always so inipersd by your work Kara!!! Your lighting, your processing and your eye for style is amazing! Love this designer the more you post if her work, the more I love it!
 2. I also read your comments on this seeris on Flickr. I think many of your action photos ARE portraits. You anticipate and capture the peak moment beautifully (something I'm not very good at) and every expression tells something about that person. I enjoyed these very much. ~Lee
 3. Deferral of the Fiscal Cliff was temporary and exepris March. The extend efforts will also give out soon ... but agreed, there is no way to quantify defaults and indicate where it begins, as the dark pools and shadow banking are completely controlled out of sight. Presumably Gold in Sacks are put on the spot, unable to use a patsy, to choose which of its competitor "banks" cave in...which http://pjiswnztzll.com pqlbqte [link=http://jxdfrrzdxi.com]jxdfrrzdxi[/link]
 4. I’ve got freelancers here in India, what I really want is a full time content writer in the office. If you know of anyone that might want to spend a year in India, even if just for some working experience, send them to me!Regarding doing a job you enjoy, if someone is in a job they don’t enjoy they need to take a long hard look at why they are doing it and why they aren’t doing something they enjoy. OK, if you want to be a writer or artist then you might have to do some crappy jobs till you get your break, but if you give up on your dream and ‘settle’ for something less than what you want then you’ve only got yourself to blame @Father: Aerospace Engineering was what I wanted to do at the time because it interested me (and still does). I didn’t do it because I thought it would lead to a higher salary. Similarly, I’m now working in IT (well, marketing in IT) and really enjoy what I do. I must do because I earn less than my little sister and moved to India – because it’s what I want to do, not because it pays more. discount car insurance quote
 5. Congrats again, Delle!I'm kicking myself for not including your book in my most recent amazon order...until someone produces an affordable waterproof ebook reader (for the bathtub) I much prefer real books.Good point about religion, too. Of course it permeated people's lives and church going was as much a social event as it was a moral duty, and the very beautiful language of the King James Bible and the Book of Common Prayer would have influenced speech. My hero Adam was an atheist, but I realized after the fact that he would have been kicked out of Cambridge as Shelley was. 6. Dr. Overton:“To elect” meaning merely “to choose,” all of Mankind is currently locked into the narrow rut of “to elect” as if it can only mean “to vote,” that is, to play our assigned-from-above role – our only only only role – in the Establishment-owned PPC (Political Popularity Contest). Virtually all of the “problems” alluded to in your book would disappear should we find a more democratic election system than the PPC. Ruling out wrestling matches, beauty reviews, and spelling bees for all the obvious reasons, the method of firmly establishing First Amendment-styled democracy in the place of big-moneyed elitism and REAL Republic in the place of republic-disguised Oligarchy is to turn all Election Commissions into draft boards and make all non-deferred adult citizens candidates for all political offices for which they are age-residency qualified. I.e., replace the BLANKET PPC with the BLANKET Political Lottery so that our federal and State governments will no longer be monopolized by only one kind of egotist, the one popularly derided as the “Career Politician.” The PPC is the screen which rules out anything close to ordinary or typical Americans being elected to public office. If you have objections to this, please include much higher remarks than just crystal-balling it with “It’ll never work” and/or “You’ll never make it fly.” Tell me, instead, why Oligarchy is not our enemy, or why getting rid of the oligarch control of government would be bad, or why a mere cross-section of the non-deferred general public would not be more democratic than the professional-politicians-only arrangement now existing.Thank you. florida car insurance
 7. Thank you for writing this insightful post. I’m going through yet another rebuild of my parenting skills and this is a brick in my foundation as I continue to learn how to help him. The “always on switch” is a very useful metaphor for me. Years of negative behavior directed at me has challenged my “on switch” and sometimes made the current feel weak (“my volume down”), or simply lost (crazy near mute). My switch is “on” even when I bungle everything. As to your parenthetical comment – should my son be keeping the switch open for his birth mom/dad then my goal has been for him to look and see my “real time” love and acceptance. That is who and where is lives. Keeping the “switch open” for a relationship where the door was closed keeps his feelings of hopelessness and abandonment. My kiddo needs to feel and see where the switch is “on”.Thanks again for writing. viagra on line sale cheap car insurance
 8. Cubemate, I’m afaid I’m with 4:46 - and I haven’t worked in awful agencies and I’m not a ‘soulless hack’.I do agree with a lot of what you say though – it’s just that interrogating the client’s business and problem could and should be done by smart account people, and the creatives should be brought in earlier in that process.Creatives and creative directors are responsible for a lot of the great ‘planning’ that goes on in advertising, that has always been the case. Allowing the creatives to get in on the problem early and work with the account team to find some interesting angles is a simple and bullshit-free way of working. What you can ‘planning’ I just call smart advertising thinking, that should be done by smart account directors with insight from creatives.I think it’s the separating out of this task into the separate role of ‘planning’ that has had a detrimental effect on advertising overall.Planning as a separate role in the advertising process only has a place in a model of the ad business where account people are just seen a bag carriers, and creatives as caged monkeys (or children LOL) let loose to do a bit of finger painting at the end.‘Account planning’ as a separate role tends to over intellectualise and over complicate this part of the job, and go too far towards the solution, and attempt to exert ownership over the problem and the direction for the solution. This leaves little room for the unexpected or the category-busting idea.Yes, good advertising does get done in spite of the presence of planning in the modern ad business. But without planning - account directors given back responsibility for business side of the problem, and creatives encouraged to get involved at that stage – advertising can get its real sparkle and crackle back. It’s not a coincidence that the vast majority of historical work that we hold up as great has been arrived through this simple way of working. credit apr 0% cash back creditcards
 9. Well since you ask:1. I want to know why some Chiro’s still claim that subluxations are the cause of most medical problems. 2. I want to know why some Chiro’s think they are on the same par as medical Doctors when they have no training in proper diagnosis, which may result in a delay in patients being referred to a real doctor.3. I want to know why some chiropractors claim they can treat illnesses and diseases in which they have no business treating, much less received training in. E.g. Asthma, high blood pressure, diabetes and even cancer. 4. I want to know why Chiro’s resort to logical fallacies instead of providing evidence when challenged.Edit:So, let me get this straight, the newbie, flora, is going to drive over to Yahoo HQ and rat on us?
