Simon Slater has composed original music for over 150 theatre productions, including Romeo and Juliet for the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2009, which toured the United Kingdom and Stratford-upon-Avon. He has worked extensively with Edward Hall writing original music for Henry V, Julius Caesar (Royal Shakespeare Company), Macbeth (Albery Theatre, West End), For Services Rendered (Watermill Theatre), and was the musical supervisor on Rose Rage (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and Dukes Theatre, New York). His other theatre music credits include Honour starring Diana Rigg (Wyndham’s Theatre, West End), Coyote on a Fence (Duchess Theatre, West End), as well as plays by Tom Stoppard, Alan Bennett, Molière, J.M. Barrie, and many new works. His television credits include “Inquisitions” with Derek Jacobi, the last two series of “Dalziel & Pascoe,” and most recently “Impact Earth.” His radio credits include the award-winning “The Blood Libel,” “Eight Days in July,” and “The Look of Life.” Mr. Slater wrote music for a BBC documentary and original songs for a stage production of James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.
