James Waterston

James Waterston was previously seen at the Huntington in Private Lives, Ah, Wilderness!, and Gross Indecency. He has appeared on Broadway in An Enemy of the People (Manhattan Theatre Club). His Off Broadway credits include Parents’ Evening (The Flea Theater), Buffalo Gal (Primary Stages), The Importance of Being Earnest (Brooklyn Academy of Music, dir. Sir Peter Hall), and As You Like It (The Public Theater/NYSF). Regional and international favorites include Chinglish (Goodman Theatre), Othello (Commonwealth Shakespeare Company), Long Day’s Journey into Night (Syracuse Stage), Twelfth Night (The Old Globe), The Seagull (George Street Playhouse), Children (Williamstown Theatre Festival), and Julius Caesar (American Repertory Theater, Paris’ Theatre Gerard Philipe, and touring in Bogotá, Colombia and throughout France). Mr. Waterston has spent five seasons at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, three seasons at The Old Globe, and three seasons at the Sundance Film Institute. His film and television credits include Certainty, Visiting, Dead Poets Society, Little Sweetheart, “Treme,” “The Good Wife,” a recurring role on “Six Feet Under,” “Live from Baghdad,” “Wedding Daze,” “Christy: The Movie,” and “Dear Dumb Diary.” Mr. Waterston will revive his role in Private Lives this spring in Washington, DC.
