Doug Peck returns to the Huntington having previously served as musical director of Candide (Goodman Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company). Regional credits include Carousel and Man of La Mancha (Long Wharf Theatre and Court Theatre), Porgy and Bess and Caroline, or Change (Court Theatre), Animal Crackers (Goodman Theatre), Fiorello! (Timeline Theatre), Oh, Coward! (Writer's Theatre), and work at Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, Drury Lane, Apple Tree Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Porchlight Music Theatre, Chicago Humanities Festival, Long Wharf Theatre, ACT Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Peninsula Players, and the Ravinia Festival. Other favorite projects include Dreamgirls, Shenandoah, Fiddler on the Roof, Cabaret, Sweet Charity, James Joyce's The Dead, A Catered Affair, Hair, Sweet Charity, Grey Gardens, My Fair Lady, Beauty and the Beast, and Raisin. Mr. Peck can be heard on the recordings Bright Young People: The Songs of Noël Coward, Foiled Again: Live, and Loving, Repeating: A Musical of Gertrude Stein. For the Chicago Humanities Festival, he and Rob Lindley have presented Assassins and Follies in concert, as well as A Night at the Oscars. Mr. Peck is a creative partner with Goodman Theatre, an artistic associate with Porchlight, and a faculty member of the National High School Institute of the Arts. He is the winner of five Joseph Jefferson Awards for Best Musical Direction and two After Dark Awards. He studied at Northwestern University and Interlochen Center for the Arts.
