Daniel Ostling returns to the Huntington having designed Candide and A Civil War Christmas. An ensemble member of Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago, he designs extensively for Mary Zimmerman including Metamorphoses on Broadway (2002 Tony Award nomination) and La Sonnambula and Lucia di Lammermoor at The Metropolitan Opera. Recent productions include the Broadway production of Clybourne Park (Walter Kerr Theater, 2012 Tony Award nomination for Best Set Design) and Danai Gurira’s The Convert (Princeton, LA, and Chicago tour, Ovation Award for Best Set Design). His numerous regional credits include Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), New York Shakespeare Festival (in Central Park), Lincoln Center Theater, The Public Theater/NYSF, Playwright’s Horizon, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Long Wharf Theatre, McCarter Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Mark Taper Forum, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Arena Stage, and Portland Center Stage, among many others. Internationally his work has been seen in London, Australia, and Japan. Mr. Ostling is an associate professor at Northwestern University in Chicago.
