Anita Yavich was the costume designer for the Broadway production of Anna in the Tropics. She also designed for New Jerusalem (Classic Stage Company); Being Alive (Philadelphia Theatre Company); Iphigenia 2.0 (Signature Theatre Company); Peel (Parsons Dance); The Wooden Beeks (MCC Theater); and Measure for Pleasure, Kit Marlowe, The Winter's Tale, Civil Sex, and Pericles (The Public Theater). Her Opera design credits include Cyrano (La Scala, The Metropolitan Opera, and Royal Opera House at Covent Garden); Les Troyens (The Metropolitan Opera); Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar (Tanglewood Music Center); The Gambler (Opera Zuid, Holland); Hildegarde: A Measure of Joy (Chanticleer); Steve Reich's Three Tales (Vienna Festival and tour); Fidelio, Die Walkure, and Das Rheingold (Washington National Opera); Arsace II (San Francisco Opera); Madame Butterfly (Houston Grand Opera and Grand Theatre De Geneve); Der Fliegende Hollander (Spoleto Festival); and The Silver River (Spoleto Festival and Lincoln Center Festival). Ms. Yavich was the puppet and costume designer for The Sound of Music (Salzburg Marionetten Theatre and tour), and received the 2006 OBIE Award for Sustained Excellence in Design.
